RYUU-OU Stage No specific stage - instead, he can show up on almost any stage in the game. However, when he fights Ganryu (in human form, of course) is always in the background, watching. Entrance 'Melts' into view in a dark and imposing manner, but facing the opposite way from his opponent. He starts to say "How did you like that entrance?", but in mid question he sees his opponent isn't in front of him. He stops, looks surprised, looks behind himself, then looks sheepish as he turns around to face the right way. Special Entrances - Ryuu-ou / Steve Ryuu-ou: (Standing in an arrogant arms folded pose) Show me what you have learnt, my student! Steve: (Going into his stance) That is SO cliched. Ryuu-ou: (Following a moment later, grumbling) Kids these days... - Ryuu-ou / Happousai Ryuu-ou: (Smiles) Tanoshimouze, Happii-kun. ("Let's have some fun, Happy-kun!") Happousai: (Bouncing in excitement) Atarimee jayo! ("Of course!") Victory Quotes "Did you really think you could defeat my 2000 years of experience?" (To Steve or Ann) "And the master triumphs over the student once again, as is the nature of things." ...can't think of any others... Throws Grabs followed by ki enhanced strikes or pressure point attacks, generally. Taunt Turns his back, his arms folded over his chest, and says "Fighting one so much younger than I... er..." scratches his head and finishes with "how did that go again?" Advantages - His staff dramatically extends his reach - Can do the Ryuenbashira as a standard special move! - EXTREMELY useful super moves. - Has remote 'auto tracking' specials. - When life is very low, his super meter starts automatically charging. Disadvantages - Very bad combo ability - Generally slow and non-agile, and his normal moves are laggy; this moves the focus to his generally rocking specials and supers. - Has significant startup time on some of his moves - If there are Fire-less stages, then he loses access to a couple of moves in them Special moves - Ryuenda: Hold MP, MK, SP, or SK If you hold down the button for one of his medium or strong attacks, then the attacking foot, fist or staff is surrounded by an energy flare. This energy flare can cancel fireballs, adds priority to the move, but on the flipside the move is a bit slower to come out and recover from. Does a tick of block damage. - Ryuenba D, DF, F + P (can be done in air) A basic fireball move, the button used determines the direction. This can also be used in the air to fire downwards at an angle. - Ryuenbashira: F, D, DF + P A pillar of ki blasts upwards in front of him and covers the entire height of the screen, with very quick startup time. The punch button used determines the range of the pillar, from right next to him to midscreen. The blast is relatively weak and can't be followed up, but the close versions are excellent air-defense - Ryuensen ("Dragonfire beam") F, B, DB, D, DF, F + P Rears back, gathering his ki, then shoots a narrow beam across the screen. Very slow startup and recovery, is almost impossible to put into combos, and doesn't do much more damage than a Ryuenba. Supers - Chouryuenbashira D, DF, F, D, DF, F + KKK There's the Super Move 'ching' and flash as Ryuu-ou extends a hand towards the ground, then he gestures upwards and a large column of ki bursts upwards from the ground immediately below the opponent. If it hit, then the opponent is flung up into the air and Ryuu-ou can then follow up with any other move, including another Chouryuenbashira. Doesn't do as much damage on its own, though. - Chouryuenba F, B, DB, D, DF, F + PPP A large instant travel beam, much like the Shinkuu Hadouken in the VS games, with a very short startup time. - Taryuenba D, DF, F, D, DF, F + PPP (level 2 super) Fires many many Ryuenba blasts extremely rapidly one after the other, in a tight arc. - Chouryuenatemisen (Super Dragonfire Atemi Strike) F, LP, LP, F, MP, HP, F+HP (level 3 super) Does a short dash forwards, doing an unblockable fingerstrike. If he connects, he then blurs around the opponent, occasionally pasuing just long enough for us to see him doing more fingerstrikes, and there's a constant sound of thuds. After a few seconds of this he steps away, the opponent is shaking, and you can hear Ryuu-ou saying "Three... Two... One..." At "zero" a series of massive ki explosions wrack the opponent's body, flinging them into the stratosphere.
