Other: People seeing Tonya, especially ki-sensitives, can sense
something about her.  It's like an aura, but not quite.  All they can
tell is that Tonya seems somehow...clean.  Pure, as if the world has
never touched her.  She tends to make people feel relaxed by her
presence.  The effect is very subtle, however.

Clothing: Tonya wears comfortable, light clothing, like jeans and
sweaters. She often carries a scabbarded broadsword that once belonged
to Blade.

Personality: Years ago, before the start of GRIT as we know it, Blade
was still living in China, with Ginseng and his fellow students.  A
frequent visitor there was Tonya, a mysterious woman who appeared to
be an old friend of the mage.  Time passed, and she and the young
Blade fell in love.

Then Epsilon came.  Tonya had a Jyusenkyou curse, that of a gazelle,
and as such was a perfect victim for the Medallion of Souls.  He came
upon the young couple as they were having dinner in a field, too far
from the cottage to go for help.  Blade fought the vempyre but was
easily defeated.  Desperate to save her lover's life, Tonya willingly
gave her soul up to the Medallion.  This noble act, however,
engendered Blade's obsessive need for revenge against all vempyres,
Epsilon in particular.

Years later, Jo Heavensrun and Ranma Saotome also had their souls
taken by Epsilon's Medallion.  While within it, they met Tonya's
spirit.  With her help, and the courage of the other Nerimans, Epsilon
was destroyed and the Medallion smashed.  Jo and Ranma returned to
their bodies, and the others trapped within departed for their
long-awaited rest.  Or so it was thought.

Yet now, nearly a year later, Tonya has returned.  She no longer has a
Jyusenkyou curse.  She is amnesiac; even her own name was lost to her.
But she remembers Blade, and she carries with her the sword he buried
with her.  Is she the true love he lost so long ago?  And if so, what
does it bode for Ukyou...?

Tonya knows nothing of her past or her origins.  All she remembers is
walking, travelling, searching for something even she didn't
understand, until her search led her to Nerima and Blade...and the
disturbing truth.

She is in a quandry.  On the one hand, she loves Blade, and she can
tell his feelings for her are still strong.  On the other, he also
loves Ukyou, and she has seen the hurt her presence causes the chef.
In addition, Tonya strongly desires to find out the truth of who and
what she is, and she senses the answers don't lie with Blade.

She has flashes, glimpses of what she once was.  And this disturbs her
even more, for she is clearly more than Blade ever knew about her.
She is a powerful warrior, but that is the least of it.  Information
on nearly any topic, from geography to exorcisms, flows into her mind
on demand.  But it is never complete, and she doesn't know the
original source.  Until she finds the truth, Tonya will follow her
instincts and try to remain true to what she thinks of as herself.

Tonya is friendly and outgoing but somewhat timid, keenly conscious of
her status as an outsider.  She has a keen desire to help people, and
will earnestly try to insert herself into any situation where she
feels she can do some good.  Unfortunately, the gaps in her memory
often limits her help to hunches or dubious advice.  Invariably
polite, she will withdraw if she feels her presence or assistance are
not welcomed.  In an emergency she will often act swiftly and
decisively, instincts overtaking her normal hesitation.
