TAROU Name: Tom Tarou Player: Original Ranma character, generally played by Chris McNeil (Parenthesis indicate MechaTarou) Agility: ****** (****) Power: ***** (*******) Endurance: ****** (********) Speed: ********* (****) Strategy: ******* Cunning: ***** Energy: *** (********) Skills: Mien Ch'uan (Cotton Fist Kung Fu): Champion/Master Cheating: Master Taunts/Psychological Warfare: Master Attitude: Defensive, tends to try and slowly wear down opponents. Has a methodical attack style with heavy reliance on foreknuckle fists and taunting. He shifts tactics to best handle the situation, dodging to let ki-masters waste their energy, hit and run to keep super-strong types from overpowering him, heavy defense and blows to arms and legs for super-fast fighters, etc. Utterly ruthless in any serious fight; will cripple or kill opponent if necessary. For reasons of his own, uses his cursed form much less than in days past, but will NOT hesitate to make use of its formidible power in a dangerous situation. Utterly fearless, yet prudent. Powers: When splashed with cold water, he becomes MechaTarou, having jet-assisted flight capabilities (including out of the atmosphere), high artillery, and a variety of technological gadgets. Lacks the "improvements" Washuu made to Blade's form, but his tentacles and greater experience more than make up for this. Also, by a moment of concentration, he can enter a "mind over matter"-like trance. While in this state, he is utterly immune to pain and cannot by knocked unconscious. However, it slows his reflexes and speed (treat as two stars lower) and he can very easily take serious injury without realising it. He can exit the trance at will, or can be forced if made to feel strong emotion (anger is the most likely); he will then feel all effects of any injury taken during his numbed state. Techniques: Tenshin Amaguriken or similar ability. Tarou can move at speeds far beyond that of normal humans, and is able to rapidly strike at several times the speed of sound. Bracer bars: Not a technique per se, but his bracers often contain spring loaded bars (has also been knives, flash powder, and explosives on occasion) which can be fired as projectiles (two per bracer). They also allow him to block more effectively. Weaknesses: Hot water will eliminate his cursed form, but remember he's far from defenceless out of it. Sensitive about his name, but disciplined enough that it will not normally affect him in combat. Has a tendency to underestimate people. Loner. While Tarou can and has effectively worked in a group, he doesn't particularly enjoy it. Unless the odds are totally against him, Tarou will disdain most offers of help. Most important is Tarou's reputation. Few people like or trust him, for one. Also, he is considered to be one of the deadliest warriors (if not -the- deadliest) in GRIT; thus, not only is it relatively easy to gain allies against him, but he is likely to be attacked with overwhelming force if at all possible.
