MINT Contact info: Blade, kumonryuu@hotmail.com Full Name: Mint "Place" in GRIT: Near-fanatical servant and bodyguard to Incense Residence: The Ken ni Kaze Height: 167cm Weight: 70.2kg Eyes: Pale blue, with no pupils. Hair: Dark blue, cut short and tucked underneath his cap. Birthday: August 15 Blood Type: Inhuman. Curse: None. Other: Mint is a member of the Musk Dynasty, and has wolf in his ancestry. Aside from his unusual eyes, his ears are pointed, he has unusually long canine teeth and claw-like fingernails. His sense of smell is also remarkably acute, and he can generally follow a trail by scent alone. Clothing: Mint wears a wolfskin cap with the ears intact, and a curved scimitar- style sword in a large sheath on his back. He also wears a vest which leaves almost his entire chest and all his abdomen exposed to the elements. Around his waist is a sweater tied by the sleeves in case of chillier weather. A second, much shorter blade is hidden in the folds of his sweater. For pants, he sports baggy Chinese martial arts trousers tied closed at his ankles, and thin slippers. Personality: When he was a boy, Mint was without a care in the world. Assigned to be the junior bodyguard of Herb, the Musk Prince, was a plum family privilige that seemed to be a worryless position. Young Mint was confident in his skills, and besides, who could hope to threaten the powerful Dragon Prince? Herb's defeat at the hands of Ranma Saotome and his friends came as a serious shock to Mint. Worse still than his failure to guard him from this fate was the fact that in the collapse of the mountain he and Ranma had fought upon, the unconscious Herb had nearly died. And though the prince was saved from this fate, it was by Ranma, not his bodyguards. By mutual agreement, none of the three mentioned the events of their journey upon returning home, and thus Herb's bodyguards were saved from disgrace and dismissal. However, Mint's conscience was not assauged by this. He blamed himself and the casual way he had treated his duties for what had happened, and swore that not only would such a thing never happen again, but that appropriate vengeance would be meted out. When Incense was born, Mint immediately volunteered to be her caretaker, having sensed by this time that Herb was disinclined to revisit the events which had taken place in Japan and even less inclined to seek revenge for his defeat. He had vague plans of raising the young Dragon Princess to wish to take revenge in her father's stead, or perhaps even framing Ranma for an attack on the princess. However, this motivation was quickly confused by the affection, bordering on paternal attachment, he found himself taking for the lonely and generally ignored girl in his charge. Though for years his training and thoughts had focused on his revenge and the restoration of his tarnished honour, now he found himself more and more unwilling to involve the already-unhappy princess in his personal quest. However, circumstance intervened, and Incense conspired with him to travel to Jusenkyou in hopes of finding power that would force her father to respect her. Loyal more to the princess than to his ruler, Mint obeyed, and was overjoyed when of her own volition Incense decided to take their group to Nerima, Japan, home of the one who was Mint's hated rival, Ranma Saotome. However, since then things have not proceeded as he has wished. The vastly powerful princess fought Ranma once, but the effort was half-hearted and the outcome inconclusive. Since then, she has ignored his urgings to deal with the problem, concentrating on aims she refuses to divulge. Mint hungers for his revenge. Whether Ranma falls at his hands or the Musk Princess' is ultimately irrelevent; either way, he would consider his honour restored. However, his personal loyalty to the Musk Princess overrides even this cherished goal. He will not act outside of her stated limits on him; were she to so command it, he would treat Ranma as a brother in arms or even give up his chance for vengeance forever, no matter how much it would pain him to do so. He will kill or die for Incense, and has sworn a binding oath that the failure with Herb will not be repeated. Anyone seeking to harm the Dragon Princess will do so only over his cold body.
