KIIMA Name: Kiima, Phoenix Royal Guard RL: Blade E-mail: kumonryuu@hotmail.com AIM: Kiima ----- RANK & TRAITS Rank: 8 (7 in Akane form) --- Attributes Fast (only in normal form) Fragile (only in normal form) Agile (both forms) Weak (both forms) --- Skills Martial Arts- Swordfighting Aerial Combat+ (only in normal form) Sound Control ----- ATTITUDE Style: Unnamed Phoenix Mountain Swordsmanship - As a royal guard, Kiima is trained in the basic fighting style of Mount Phoenix, which focuses on using the aerial mobility advantage she has over ground-bound opponents. She is trained extensively in mid-air combat manouvres. In human form, she has been forced to modify this into a less mobile sword-style that highly resembles Kung Fu swordfighting styles with lots of elaborate parries, feints and other speed over raw power tactics. --- Methods: In her true form, Kiima prefers to hover just within range of her Onjoujitsu techniques to disable opponents and then bombard them with long range attacks and sweeping strikes that move her in and out before her disoriented opponent can retaliate. In human form, or when forced into a situation where she can't fly because of lack of room, Kiima relies on her swordfighting skills in conjunction with her sound control effects. If at all possible, she will seek to move the battle to a place where she can take full advantage of her flight. ----- SPECIALS Advantages: Standard Martial Arts Abilities In her true form Kiima has a pair of large dove-like wings extending from her back. She can fly about five times as fast as she can walk, and hover in place by rapidly beating her wings and using of her chi to lighten her already-light frame. She can fly through the air with the same ease you or I would walk down the street and in fact has trained herself to fight in the air since before she could walk. Kiima has also spent the last six years developing a new technique called "Onjoujitsu" or "The Art of the Voice" which allows her to use her mouth to produce certain high-frequency sounds that have a variety of harmful effects on people and objects within earshot. These techniques work by creating specific soundwaves; even people unable to "hear" them can still be effected by the harmful sonic vibrations. The main disadvantage of this techniques is their indiscriminate nature, as they affect everyone in front of her. However, Kiima in her true form can use her wings to manipulate the sound into a cone facing in any direction she wishes. Kiima's training in sound manipulation has also led to her developing a sonar- like "echolocation" sense. This gives her, when it is in operation, complete 360 degree awareness of her immediate surroundings. Kiima can talk to birds and pursuade them to obey any sort of simple commands; while she is loathe to expose them to extreme danger, they could be an unexpected distraction to an opponent or several other possible uses. Finally Kiima carries a curved chinese sword. While finely made and well honed to a razor's edge this weapon is otherwise mundane. It does give her a reach advantage over unarmed opponents (something Kiima is very used to taking advantage of). --- Disadvantages: When splashed with cold water Kiima change into her cursed form, a physically perfect replica of Akane Tendo. In this form she is shorter, slower and tougher. However she also lacks her wings, which is a major crimp in her fighting style. While Kiima has trained extensively in "groundling" combat she still is not as formidable in this form as her normal one. Her lack of wings means she cannot fly or control the direction of her Onjoujitsu techniques. Because Kiima must use her voice to generate her Onjoujitsu techniques, she can only use one of them at any time. Nor, of course, can she speak while using them. Kiima, like all Phoenix people, has hollow bones like a bird. This makes her noticably less durable in her natural form than other martial artists of her Rank. --- Techniques Suichou Senzan Yoku (Sea Bird Thousand Wing Slice) By beating her wings at high speed, Kiima produces a flurry of small vacuum blades similar to Ryuu Kumon's Kijin Raishuu Dan, only smaller and more numerous. These blades cut though most solid material like razors, and Kiima can produce thousands of them with little effort. However, they can't be directed beyond travelling in generally the same direction Kiima is facing, and because they are produced by her wings on each side of her, the technique leaves a vulnerable spot directly in front of her. Funkyuu On (Note of Confusion) Kiima uses her sonics to produce a high-frequency pulse which renders concentration all but impossible. Victims will find it impossible to concentrate on tasks more complex than simple movement and martial arts. Everything else requires too much focus to maintain under the assualt of this technique. This includes activating most high order chi abilities, casting spells, using psionic powers and so on. Bukken Katsu On (Object Breaking Note) Kiima uses her sonics to create a sympathetic vibration in any sort of solid object, causing it to rapidly shatter. The harder, purer and more brittle the object, the more quickly and completely it will be destroyed, but any reasonably hard material will not stand up for more than a few seconds. Shiniisogo On (Rapid Death Note) A deadly variant of the above, Kiima creates a vibration in the target's bones. At first, this is merely painful as the bones vibrate slightly in your body. Over time this effect grows more pronounced and more painful until finally the bones crack and then reduced to a fine powder after several minutes of concentrated attack. This attack causes no long-term damage if Kiima is forced to stop using it before the bones break. It is worth noting that if this technique is pitched to attack human bones, it will NOT effect the bones of Phoenix (or other creatures with non-human skeletal construction) in the area of effect. Koshikudake On (Balance Breaking Note) Kiima focuses her sonics into a frequency which disrupts the inner ear. Victims feel an intense vertigo (some may become physically ill), find themselves unable to maintain their balance and so much as walking unassisted becomes impossible. This technique does not effect purely mental exercises or manual dexterity. Obviously beings without actual inner ears are uneffected. This technique can cause long term damage if used continiously against a single target. Henge Shindou Ken (Ghost Vibration Blade) Kiima focuses her sonics through her sword and turns it into an ultra-high frequency blade. In this form the blade can slice through literally anything. Hengemozu Manzan Yoku (Ghost Bird Ten Thousand Wing Slice) Kiima floats backwards and unfurls her wings, creating thousands of vacuum blades, then focuses her Onjoujitsu technique into them, shattering the blades into thousands of tiny ones, each of which can cut through anything. There are so many of these blades coming at once that the opponent would have to be able to literally dodge raindrops to avoid them all. Use of this technique is very draining for Kiima since she has to focus her ki in two different ways at the same time, making use of this technique reserved for only desperate situations.
