Incorporates several throws and kicks. Tends to visually disorient opponents. Many improvisational attacks, generally named, but not particularly effective. --- Methods: In serious fights, Kappa goes defensive first, until he can analyze his opponent's fighting rhythms, whereby his rhythm analysis powers allow him to unconsciously predict his opponent's moves. From thereon he normally uses one-shot, flashy 'finishing' moves. Against those he underestimates, he doesn't bother to analyze their tactics. Frequently he uses lights and lasers to blind opponents as a preliminary tactic. ----- SPECIALS Advantages: Super Hearing. This ability is always in effect for Kappa, and functions even when unconscious(!). This gives him 360 degree awareness and renders him virtually impossible to surprise. The range of this ability varies upon how much background noise is present. Untrained opponents often can give their attacks away to Kappa when he listens to their heartbeat. Kappa has no handicap for blind fighting and is immune to sonic attacks. Rhythm Analysis: Kappa's DJ training allows him to quickly analyze persons in repetitive movement (such as fighting) and anticipate actions appropriately, enhancing his reaction time considerably and allowing him to fight as if he knew his opponent's moves. Unorthodox tactics and trickery can counter this ability, but for only so long as it takes Kappa to adjust. Normal analysis takes about two minutes. Special Effects: Kappa carries a pocket laser, a hand strobe, and various audio/visual paraphenalia in his record bag at nearly all times. The laser can be used to temporarily blind, as can the strobe. Neither do any permanent damage and are used to disorient the opponent to allow Kappa to attack. Standard Martial Artist Abilities (sans Presence Sense, which is replaced by Kappa's hearing) --- Disadvatages: Phobia of fish. He runs away from fish, except when he is stuck in the same environment and can't get out, in which case he goes berzerk on the fish. Distaste For Attacking Females: Kappa holds back when fighting girls; he finds fighting them highly unpleasant and will never attack all out. When attacked by females, he will generally run away if unable to end the combat. Possession Prone: Due to his Demonic Investment that prevents him from singing, Kappa is also fairly easy for demons to possess. Squeamishness: Kappa is disgusted to the point of extreme nausea by the sight of blood, bodily fluids, and mangled flesh. His ability to fight is severely hampered by seeing these things. --- Techniques Jungle Rewind Scratch Kappa's most commonly used technique, a series of blindingly fast, almost Amiguriken-speed punches. The power of each individual punch is not particularly great, but the cumulative effect is. Its effectiveness has increased over time with training. Easily used in combat. Keto Blasta (Ghetto Blaster) Kappa's sole ki move, an invisible blast of sonic energy that emits from his hands in a waving gesture. Is nearly impossible to detect or dodge, but causes virtually no physical damage, other than causing a person's body to deeply vibrate for a few seconds. The Keto Blasta is generally used as a setup for powerful physical attacks or for a moment of breathing room against an agressive attacker. Fairly reliable to use. Arkonu Sweepu (Argon sweep) Using his most powerful hand held strobe pack modified with an alternating laser, Kappa can emit an intensely bright, colorful yet blinding series of light patterns in a variable, cone shaped field. The smaller the cone, the more intense the effect. His standard preliminary attack in fights where he's wary of his opponent, it can only be used for a brief period of time (since the batteries run out quick). Chill Shiatsu Touch Kappa's only pressure point attack, applied to the back. When connecting, it relieves anxieties and relaxes the opponent, often to the point of ceasing hostilities. Hard to perform and rarely seen, he prefers to use this technique on females rather than males.
