INCENSE Name: Incense, Dragon Princess of the Musk Dynasty RL: Chris McNeil E-mail: kumonryuu@hotmail.com AIM: Kiima ----- RANK & TRAITS Rank: 9 --- Attributes Weak Chi+ --- Skills Martial Arts- Chi Powers+ Overconfident ----- ATTITUDE Style: "Style? I need no foolish style, human. I am Power Incarnate!" Incense instinctively knows the basics of fighting, but her movements are not coordinated by any sort of recognizable martial art. --- Methods: Incense will never engage in physical combat if she can help it; instead she will stay at a safe distance, allow her opponents to exhaust themselves attacking her while she clinically examines her capabilities, and then unload on them with her devastating ki attacks. When angered, she becomes like a demon, whipping out increasingly more powerful moves to deadly effect. If reduced to child form, she will retreat instantly, relying on her servitors to shield her until she can return to her vastly more powerful cursed self (in Child Form, treat as Rank 3 with fairly negligible ki abilities aside from the ability to fly and use the Hiryuu Shoten Ha). ----- SPECIALS Advantages: Incense is the absolute, unquestioned ki master of GRIT. Her power is unsurpassed by all known GRIT warriors, past and present. Included with this power is inherent knowledge and control, making her an extremely formidable opponent. While she does not have the precise control and variety of esoteric effects that certain other people-notably Blade and Ranma-can achieve, she learns very quickly. --- Disadvantages: When splashed with HOT water, Incense is revealed in her true form: a three year old girl. In this form she is comparatively pitiful; while she can fly fairly quickly and agilely, her ki attacks are reduced to ineffective little "zaps". While as a last resort she is capable of the control necessary to pull off a Hiryuu Shoten Ha, she will at all costs avoid combat in this form. Incense is utterly enchanted with her own power. She believes herself to be more or less the supreme being of the cosmos, and this egoism causes a few hindrances for her. First, obviously, she will consider any opponent to be a completely negligible threat to her. Second, although she is capable of imitating (and probably improving on) ANY of the ki attacks used by the GRITers, she will almost certainly not deign to use an attack created by such obvious inferiors. Bear in mind, however, that her assumptions of sheer superiority over all fighters in GRIT are to a very great degree correct, and it is foolish to underestimate her simply because of her ego. --- Techniques These first moves were learned from her father, Herb, who either devised them himself or learned them from other sources: Shimida (Death Serpent Attack): In appearance and effect more or less a normal ki blast (in fact, it is a bit weaker than her usual attacks); however, it is composed of "cold" chi, and thus is mostly useful as an effective counter to someone else trying to set up a Hiryuu Shoten Ha. Guro-kamisatsu-ken (Dark Spirit Killer Attack): An almost "experimental" move, this blast does no physical damage but instead attacks the opponent's spirit. Repeated strikes will cause the victim to have less and less will to live; if hit enough the afflicted person would simply die from lack of will. Incense will not normally use this move unless for some reason her normal blasts are insufficient; it's more subtle, "sneaky" attack is beneath her. Ryuusei Hishou (Dragon Spirit Ascension Soar): Her father's signature attack; the user launches themselves into the air and then hurtles down at the opponent, launching several ki blasts during the flight which are timed to rebound off the surrounding area and strike the opponent all at once from multiple directions. A very complex move, it is difficult to execute against an opponent aware of its workings (unless you are considerably faster than them), but it does an absolutely staggering amount of damage if it strikes. Hitou Ryuuzan Ha (Flying Dragon Beheading Blade): Incense simply whips her arm around, releasing a swarm of crescent-shaped blasts which are capable of cutting through virtually anything. The blasts fly in random arcs, and are thus difficult to dodge. Golden Bell: based on a more common defensive technique in which one uses ones ki to create a solid barrier around oneself. Incense can take this a step father, not only defending herself, but extending it for use as a bludgeoning or slicing weapon, or even creating "platforms" solid enough to stand on. The main advantage of this move is that is a nearly pure manifestation of her power, and thus is almost impossible to counter (aside from avoiding it); however, it is an extension of her body and thus cannot be used as a "remote" effect without severely weakening it. Hiryuu Shoten Ha: Yes, the same good old move known by Ranma and Cologne, among others. However, Incense has a distinct advantage in that she can perform it automatically (only in adult form)! With only slight effort, she can bathe the area in hot chi, cause it to draw into a spiral, and then emit cold chi herself to catalyse the familiar whirlwind reaction. In addition, by doing this she can also regulate the power of the move, to a certain degree (it has to be a certain power level to sucessfully come off; it also has an upper limit beyond which extra hot chi dissipates so quickly it doesn't really affect the power of the whirlwind as an attack). Naturally, she can also do this the "regular" way, but normally does not have the patience to do so. The remaining moves were devloped by the prodigal daughter herself... Senpuu-tsuchi-ai (Earth Unity Vortex): Incense joins her hands to shape a sphere over her gut, and then sucks all the ambient chi of the area into it. As such, she can cause a variety of effects, such as manipulating the elements around her, create a flexible aura shield, or cause light to bend around her and thus become truly invisible. The absence of ambient chi is also harmful to living creatures, but it would take some time for any noticible effects to occur (hours, at least). Eclipse of the Hundred Stars: This is a defensive/offensive combination technique designed to nullify-and then some!-the attacks of other ki users. First, she creates a low-chi zone around herself (not a complete void, however), and allows the attack to flow into it like water into a ditch, thereby momentarily creating a flaring aura around herself. She then extends her own aura before the attack can strike her (which swallows the original aura, thus causing the "eclipse" effect) and then the "twin" blast explodes into hundreds of tiny spheres which unerringly return to the attacker. Because the homing signal is contained within the traces of the attacker's own ki (if you sent the blast, you have ki in it SOMEWHERE), it is -not- possible to dodge the attack; it can be run from, but it will eventually strike unless the attacker can stay away for the years required for it to dissipate. Once they strike the attacker, her aura erupts, creating the effect of multiple powerful blasts striking from all directions WITHIN the victim's body; bad enough if the original blast was powered by the attacker, but if it was caused by another force (emotional blasts, or Fire of the Dragon, for instance), then THAT force also strikes, causing various unpleasant effects. There are two weaknesses to the counter: first, it is designed only to counter single blasts; it is useless again a hail of multiple small blasts like Ranma's Kachuu Bisha Takaken, and second, Incense must know the attack is coming in time to set up the "low chi" zone (not really hard; unless she is taken completely by surprise or is distracted when the attack is fired). Tatsu Houno Shinsei (Dragon of the Flaring Sun): She creates an incredibly bright aura, which is capable of physically blinding an opponent, but more importantly, makes ki detection abilities virtually useless because the entire area is literally bathed in it. This works for both Incense and her opponents, however, so she is cautious about using it. Dairyu Tsuchibaku-Sho (Great Dragon Earth Breaker Rise): Incense calls forth the "chi of the earth" (she must be touching the ground as she does this), causing a pillar of chi-the size can range from about a meter in diameter to nearly a kilometer in diameter-to erupt from underneath the opponent, doing severe damage and hurling them into the air. The drawback is that, once used, the earth must replenish itself (about a day) before it can be used again. However, see below... Dairyu Tenhi-Aiho (Great Dragon Heaven's Flying Uniting Sphere): The logical counterpart of the above, Incense flies into the air and draws in all the "chi of the heavens", then drops down holding a -giant- chi sphere that crushes opponents. Normally, this technique is about comparable in power to the Hiryuu Kourin Dan, or a particularly powerful Perfect Shishi Hokodan. However, remember the move above? That blasts all the chi of the earth into the air. If the Heaven's Flying Uniting Sphere is used subsequently to a normally-sized Earth Breaker Rise, the effects are...spectacular, to say the least. The "chi of heaven and earth" erupts down in a monstrous explosion, causing damage equivalent to a direct strike from a tactical nuclear missile. When she does this, she calls it the Shindairyu Tenhi-Aiho (True Great Dragon Heaven's Flying Uniting Sphere); and the destruction it causes is even greater than the proportion of power it contains, because the severely weakened, chi-less earth is blasted into dust; if she used this attack on Mount Fuji, she would grind the entire mountain into a crater about a mile deep! At this point, the ground has a great deal of chi (all the chi of the heavens, the chi of the earth she used before, and also quite a lot of hai, or negative chi, as it has been blasted down into the decaying region). If she used the Dairyu Tsuchibaku-Sho -then- she would create an explosion comparable to a Several Megaton Nuclear Blast! However, at this point she would no longer be able to control the forces she has unleashed and would be hit just as hard as the enemy...plus, of course, it wipe out an area the size of Tokyo and blast the chi into space, making the epicentre of the blast a "dead zone" of NO chi where no living thing could survive. If she were somehow able to keep fighting after that, it is theoretically possible she could keep going, dragging the ambient chi down from space and mixing it with more "chi of the heavens" from the upper atmosphere (creating a blast that would obliterate Japan) and so on until she destroyed the entire planet (draining out all its chi and then striking it with its own power). Luckily, she has figured this out, and will not under any circumstances go beyond the Shindairyu Tenhi-Aiho (had you going for a moment, didn't I? ;p).
