His hand to hand is based on Pao Pat Mei, but he mixes it up with his battle spatula techniques, which in turn are blended with his Kenjitsu training. In chi, he uses moves from the Kon Tatsu-Ryu, also used by Ranma, as well as a wide variety of other forms and attacks. Essentially, Blade is a jack of all trades, with a heavy bias towards chi attacks. --- Methods: Blade is the single most offensively-weighted fighter in GRIT. His style is attack, attack, attack, and nothing but if he can at all help it. He will open up a fight with moderately powered chi techniques and escalate to progressively bigger ones mixed with liberal doses of his elemental manipulation powers. He is fond of extremely flashy effects that do massive amounts of damage to both opponents and the surrounding countryside. Blade is also one of GRIT's more vicious fighters, and has no particular qualms against going out to seriously injure opponents. While not unskilled at hand to hand or his weapons, if forced to rely on them due to exhaustion or other circumstances he is effectively two ranks lower. In Mechataur form, Blade is much the same: he will fly around and attack from a distance with his massive array of supertechnological weaponry, although in this form he is much more able to take care of himself in hand to hand combat. Note that unlike Tarou, Blade's cursed form does NOT have tentacles. ----- SPECIALS Advantages: Standard Martial Arts Abilities. Chi. Blade is, after Incense, the most powerful pure chi master in GRIT. His chi reserves and control are unequalled by any other Nerimans, and they increase all the time. From merely witnessing it once, Blade can deduce the workings of ANY chi attack, duplicate it if he so desires and quite possibly improve on it. Elemental Manipulation. Before, Blade's largest problem was that even his massive chi stores eventually burnt out, leaving him much weaker. However, during his trip to China he learned how to sense the numerous spirits of Gaia that inhabit the air, fire, water and earth around him. People like Ueki can talk to them; Blade, however, takes the more direct route of simply binding them to his wishes. With this, his versatility increased immensely, allowing him to launch even more high-powered attacks at a fraction of the energy cost of his more spectacular chi blasts. His control also allows him to fly effortlessly, among other things. Cursed Form. In his massive cursed form, Blade gains a great deal of strength and toughness, and his formidible array of weaponry ensures that his attack power doesn't suffer at all. In this form he is capable of leaving the atmosphere and surviving under quite arduous conditions. He can also use his chi and elemental powers in this form, though he doesn't often do so. Due to some adjustments made upon his cursed form, MechaBlade is completely invulnerable to any form of dimensional or astral displacement. --- Disadvantages: Blade piles EVERYTHING into offence, even his comparatively weak physical attacks. While his offensive power is truly awesome, if an opponent manages to force him onto the defensive, Blade is in serious trouble. Blade gets angry very easily. This can lead to him making mistakes; unfortunately for his foes, very often it also leads to him breaking out the Ka Ken Tatsu Shin. --- Techniques Note: due to his extensive experience and ability to copy virtually any technique he sees, Blade's list of techniques is VAST. The following are a sampling of some of his most common attacks. Shohoha (Powered Wave) Storm Usually performed while in the air; Blade pumps out hundreds of small, weak white ki blasts. Genarally used as distraction. Shi-jin (Hard Chi) Blade can create a shield with his chi which allows him to block other chi blasts or physical attacks. Effective but draining, especially if he makes it big enough to protect more than just him. Bukidoken (Mystic Bolt) Blade's standard projectile attack, a silvery-blue bolt of energy. Kon Tatsu Hikari Ha (Blue Dragon Light Blade) One move Blade picked up from the Kon Tatsu-ryu school. He sweeps his arm around, sending a wave of blue energy at the opponent. This move is also often used with his spatula. Kon Tatsu Hikari Ha Advanced A variation on the above, Blade leaps in the air and spins around; when he executes the move, dart-like blasts of blue energy fly in all directions. Kon Tatsu Raiken (Blue Dragon Thunder Fist) Another Kon Tatsu-ryu technique, this one covers one of his fists in a swirling vortex of blue energy. While it is a powerful strike in and of itself, it is more useful in its ability to disrupt the chi fields of other moves. Blade has countered such techniques as the Hiryuu Shoten Ha with it. Ikusaki Atemi (Warrior Spirit Drainer) A vempyre technique, by pressing a certain pressure point, Blade can steal the energy of someone's most powerful "attribute" (not necessarily fighting energy) and convert it into chi for use by himself. May cause interesting, if temporary, personality changes in the victim... Chou Rai Jutsu (Horrible Thunderstorm Power) One of Blade's more powerful techniques, he calls down a half dozen or so bolts of lightning from the heavens which he can aim with considerable accuracy. Goiunrouga Sakebi Sen (Aggressive Wolf's Cry Attack) An emotional force blast, like the Shishi Hokodan, based on feeling of aggression, jealousy and hatred. It is a black sphere that does decent damage. Ka Ken Tatsushin (Iron Blow of the True Dragon) The Perfect version of the above, all the hatred-ki in Blade explodes outward and manifests itself as a giant black dragon, Blade's form dimly visible within it. EXTREMELY powerful; once he works himself into this state, Blade is nearly impossible to stop. While the Goiunrouga Sakebi Sen is no harder to master than any other emotional blast, only Blade's unique state allows him to consistantly use the Perfect version, as well as avoiding it's side effects (anyone else using it would lose all hatred for the victim after the attack, as their focused hatred-ki would dissipate). Elemental Attacks The addition of these new powers have expanded the range and versatility of Blade's arsenal immensely. He can now command earth, air, fire and water: all the natural elements. Aside from allowing him to fly, he can attack with any or all of these things that happen to be in the area (in the case of earth and water, that's virtually any area...). The possibilities are endless.
