Essentially it is a style that varies with it's practitioner: Ash's style is taken partly from Wing Chun, Eight Diagram Pole Fighting and Shotokan Karate. Ash is always eager to learn new techniques to incorporate into his Jeet Kune Do style. --- Methods: Most of his art is based around Wing Chun, with various elements of Karate added in for aggression. He only uses low kicks, fights in close quaters and prefers to concentrate on his punches and hand techniques. He looks for an opening in his opponent art, strike hard, and then move on from there, leaving his opponent without breathing space. ----- SPECIALS Advantages Standard Martial Arts Abilities. Ash is always looking for techniques to learn to develop his own style of Jeet Kune Do. Whenever he sees an impressive move, he tries to figure out how to perform it. Any technique that involves hitting your opponent with his fists or his feet can be analysed and eventually learned by him. --- Disadvantages: Despite being an expert in Wing Chun and Shotokan Karate, Ash has little knowledge of chi and the ability to manipulate it. He was taught mainly by martial arts instructors in leisure centers, and then moved up to a proper martial arts master. However, it wasn't until he left for Nerima that he learned of the reality of chi. Hence, none of his current attacks incorporate it. Ash has a rather nasty problem of severaly underestimating some of his opponents, if they looked unassuming enough. To him, most of the feats the Ranma 1/2 characters, and high-ranked GRITters perform are flights of fancy you'd see in manga and Hong Kong fantasy swordplay movies. Expect him to get some initial trouncings because of this. --- Techniques Ash hasn't developed many proper martial arts techniques before coming to Nerima. He usually depends on just his art to fight his enemies.
