AORYUU Name: Aoryuu RL: Talen E-mail: talen_@optusnet.com.au ICQ: 76189919 AIM: Aoryuu ----- RANK & TRAITS Rank: 5 --- Attributes Strategic Improvisational Healing Factor+ --- Skills: Weapons- Martial Arts Adaption+ ----- ATTITUDE Style: Various; Aoryuu has learned more than a few schools of martial arts, and he segues them together in a style that could be _seen_ as brawling, but anyone familiar with any of the composite aspects of his art would be able to see hints of other styles in his normal modes of assault. --- Methods: Aoryuu operates by disorienting his opponent as swiftly as possible, to the point of switching from pure defense to pure offense. He relies on his high stamina and swift regeneration to carry him in fights where others would tire or to use a water-over-rock method. Is proactively self destructive in a fight, walking into hits that he knows won't stick (for long), usually valuing victory over survival. ----- SPECIALS Advantages: Standard Nerima Martial Arts skills Healing Factor Aoryuu heals _very_ quickly. He can get up from a KO to fighting trim in scarily short times, he can bleed from major wounds for months before noticing blood loss, and it's generally a rare thing for him to still be feeling an injury the next day. Untiring Aoryuu simply does not get tired. He doesn't actually need to eat, either, but he both eats and sleeps because he feels better after doing them. However, this equates to, effectively, infinite stamina - you can't really fight him in a water-over-rock method, because he will simply shrug off most of the attacks. Learning Curve Aoryuu is the ultimate martial arts geek, on one level; he can never look at any martial arts technique without thinking "Ooh, I'd like that." And he has a learning curve to match it. When tutored, he can pick up martial techniques in record time, and he can learn extremely complex maneuvers in a relatively short time self-taught. However, he has a habit of discarding techniques like old toys - very few techniques become part of his regular arsenal - as noted by the fact he simply has forgotten all the techniques he had before arriving in Nerima. Adaption The techniques Aoryuu can't learn, he'll adapt until he can. Thanks to his propensity for long fights, he frequently modifies techniques very swiftly, and if an opponent is foolish enough to let slip a basic precept of a technique they possess that he has seen, it's pretty certain he could counter (or use) it quickly. Hidden Aoryuu has spent a significant section of his life hiding his ki signature from one of the most sensitive people on the planet - Kon Tatsu. As such, it takes completely unique senses to pick him up - Kappa's super-hearing, for example. Aoryuu, provided he's not ragingly angry (and even then, he sometimes can keep a lid on his ki), can be almost impossible to track by ki senses, and Waters, and Fire senses. --- Disadvatages: Endurance Aoryuu heals fast, but his endurance is nothing too special. Anyone of his rank with a Strength+ attribute could usually drop him with one or two hits if they don't give him the time to recover. Overconfidence Aoryuu tends to hinge everything on new techniques that he has studied, and if these techniques prove useless, his will to fight will crumble briefly. He will often continue trying to make them work, adapting them in many (probably ineffective) ways. Bullying Aoryuu doesn't really like even fights much. He prefers to have a few aces up his sleeves (and stuffed down his shirt to boot); entering a fight with wild cards in play will always unnerve him, and any fight where he is at a disadvantage from the outset will usually end with Aoryuu losing - he doesn't do well in turnaround fights. Willingness Aoryuu is seldom willing to fight at the same time as someone else, as he prefers to plan, plot and scheme before any real blows are thrown, to study and to analyse. As such, he seldom fights back in spontaneous combat, and as such, often gets the living crud pounded out of him. Water Aoryuu doesn't like getting wet from cold water very much. Being splashed with cold water freaks him out and being submerged in cold water will make him panic. Being 'around' cold water is enough to make him leery. Hot water doesn't phase him in the slightest, even if burningly hot. Stubornness Aoryuu is attached to his chaotic fighting style. It would take a determined sensei to teach him martial arts from the ground up. He is also generally stubborn in any fashion, sticking with plans after they've been shown they may not work, hoping to adapt them on the fly. Tarou Tarou even being AROUND Aoryuu while fighting can make him nervous and edgy, or even worse, make him abandon most of his flashier (but nonetheless workable) plans and chaotic style in favour of 'serious' martial arts (where he sucks). --- Techniques : None used. He has demonstrated foreknowledge of several combat techniques demonstrated in Nerima but he does not use any of these techniques, and in fact claims a degree of contempt for such predictable things.
