PAINMAKER THREAD SUMMARY

Participants in this thread:  Mist, Kei, Nikita, Stark, Jei, Mariko,
Su Yee, Steve, Wing, Xong Rose, J2, Hitomi, Kaasha, Jay, Tsu, Mizue, Kappa,
Stackpole, Corrina, lots of Wraths and eventually Wrath-in-a-Bubble.

Timeframe notes:  Cocurrent with Palace of Destruction, a week after a
Hokkaido Interlude, and a week before The One to Carry On III.


In Antarctica Jo was told that she was investigating the wrong ruined city.
Mist took a contingent of the group, along with Kelgar's last surviving
student Xong Rose as a guide, to find and investigate another ruined city
supposedly in India.

The group took all the nearly-dead people found in Antarctica to a hospital in
India and had them looked after.

Xong then led the group to a cave hidden in the mountains.  She took a small
group (Kappa, Jay, Steve, Wing, Mist) into the cave on a scouting mission.
Xong nastily played around with the group by luring Wing to step into a very
very deep pit, but he managed to grab onto a ledge as he fell.  It was
revealed at about this point that Wing has a fear of heights.  Wing naturally
didn't take this betrayal very well.

The rest of the group entered the caves and went down the pit, to end up in a
cavern in the middle of which was a large boulder acting as a seal.  This
broke and the female incarnation of Wrath emerged.

Basically, a very big fight ensued.  Major points of note that popped during
this fight were Xong being revealed to be a half-vampire working against the
GRITters, and the stress seemingly causing Wing to become a completely
different person, using completely new attacks and much much more aggressive
style.

This ended with Wrath being turned into the much less fearsome and dangerous
Wrath-in-a-bubble, and the cave system being destroyed.

After the fight Wing went back to normal.  Stackpole disappeared and
reappeared with several weeks' hair growth.  After a quick round of post
fight discussion, the group headed back to Antarctica.

Corrina has been sent by the Gallifreyan Celestial Intervention Agency to
investigate the anomaly caused by Stackpole's disappearance.  However, she
has so far been about a step behind the others.

While on the way back, Hitomi has revealed just why she hates Steve so much.
