So, what is this 'Hiatus' thing?
It's an inescapable fact: GRIT is big. Really big. It's been going since early 1996 - more than nine years now - and over that time players have come and gone, but their characters and stories have come and stayed. Some of the characters have been adopted by other players, and some of the characters have just faded away, though they are still technically around. SKJAM!, the character, is still running his magic shop. Jester, the wild force for chaos, is still causing chaos somewhere in Nerima. I think that even Sizzler Bob is still around and married to Kodachi, though he hasn't been used in years.
And a good thing too.
But enough of my petty grudges.
In answer to this enormous bloat, the idea of the Hiatus was born. The idea is that, soon in in-game-time, after tying up as many loose ends as possible, there will be a year long Hiatus. During this time, characters will leave, stuff will end, and nothing very much will happen, story-wise. This is to give GRIT a sort of reset, or a blank slate if you will.
When will it actually happen? We don't know. We've had the idea for the Hiatus for quite some time now, but GRIT has been very slow lately. (This is one of the things we hope the Hiatus will fix - less confusing history and things to keep track of should make it easier to post.) Also, there is a lot to tie up.
