Reasonably cool introductory picture of Leona.

As the title suggests, this is a character shrine dedicated to Leona. I think she's one of the coolest female fighting game characters ever, and is definitely my favourite King of Fighters female character. Why? Well, that sounds like a good way as any to lead into the typical list of reasons as to why the subject of the shrine is just so cool. So, without further ado...

Reasons for her greatness

The way she plays - She has some interesting, fun, and different combos, and her moves are different but still (mostly) effective.
Her attitude - she doesn't flounce around, giggle coquettishly and strike cool poses, very unlike those other less worthy KOF girls.
Her story - she has Orochi blood, which gives her power, but also is a constant threat hanging over her head, yet she goes on with life and doesn't let it get the better of her.
Her team - I've always liked the Ikari Team, ever since KoF94 when it was Heidern, Ralf and Clark.
Her appearance - Just look at her outfit and her D winpose in KoF98! ^_^

Hm, yes. That last reason is just a little bit embarassing. ^_^;

Ending comments of varying importance

Much as I hate to say it, this page was designed on an 800x600x16-bit colour screen and tested with Netscape Navigator 4.5 - so it'll probably look best with such a configuration. However, I've tried my best to make the page degrade gracefully, so hopefully it won't look too horrible if you have a different setup.

Standard Legal waffling: Leona, King of Fighters, Neo Geo, and anything else I can't remember are all owned by SNK and are being used without their permission; but they're being used here for non-profit purposes (and even the championing of their cause!), so hopefully it's alright. ^_^ All images used in this shrine are copyright their respective owners.

An important note (27/1/2000)

It is the end of an era (for me at least) - this page is now officially no longer under construction. I'm not finding KOF all that fun anymore, I'm less than impressed with Leona's KOF99 version, and thus I've had no enthusiasm at all for updating this page for months. I still like Leona... but... there just seems to be something missing, now.
