The Creative Gallery - Original Pictures
- NEW With these hands... (B&W, August 2001, 74.5 KB)
This one started with me trying to draw Hugh Baldwin (from Castlevania: Circle of the Moon for Gameboy Advance) because I always like the tortured characters that pull through nonetheless. This also inspired the pose. However, I didn't have a reference pic of Hugh on hand so it's not quite him. Nifty pic nonetheless. Not to mention I'm finally getting drawn hands to come out how I want them (mostly) and I like the folds on his overly-baggy pants.
- Rea (B&W, May 2001, 34.1 KB)
Hoo boy, this pic takes me back years. A bit over nine years ago I got the idea for a story called City of Evil. Since then, I've obviously not written the story; however, parts of it have shown up in other things I've done. Strangely, though, the main character never showed up in anything else. So here she is. I'm pretty sure I called her 'Rea'.
- Random silly-clothed guy (B&W, April 2001, 40.2 KB)
Just some random guy that, when I was drawing him, put some weird clothing on him for some demented reason.
- Random girl number 8 (B&W, April 2001, 22.3 KB)
- Random guy getting an idea (B&W, April 2001, 36.2 KB)
- Random girl number 7, acting tough (B&W, March 2001, 87.9 KB)
- 2 random sketches - a madman on the top and a literate demon on the bottom (B&W, February 2001, 14.5 KB)
Though the guy on the top does look like a bit like Shi from GRIT. Hmm.
- Random guy (B&W, February 2001, 16.8 KB)
His chest tattoo looks a bit like the one Orochi has, in King of Fighters 97.
- Random girl number 6 (B&W, October 2000, 24.1 KB)
I like this one. Even more so than usual.
- Random girl number 7 (B&W, November 2000, 29.4 KB)
This started off as an experiment in drawing at an almost side-on angle, and turned into an almost full-fledged pic.
- Tough looking male elf (B&W, October 2000, 27.1 KB,)
- Random 'tough guy' (B&W, September 2000, 24.1 KB)
Well, I wanted to try someone a bit different to the usual. I ended up with this somewhat dorky looking 'tough guy'. ^_^;
- Profile of another 'tough guy' (B&W, September 2000, 29.0 KB)
A similar story - I wanted to try drawing someone a bit different, and also side-on. This guy is less dorky, too.
- Random girl with long hair over one eye (B&W, September 2000, 17.7 KB)
There are so many anime guys with long hair obscuring one eye, I had to try drawing a girl with a similar hairstyle. I ended up drawing the obscured eye anyway.
- Random girl with windswept hair (B&W, September 2000, 16.7 KB)
- Random girl with weird hair (B&W, September 2000, 16.7 KB)
- Rough Hotohori lookalike, take 2 (B&W, September 2000, 40.5 KB)
Mainly a Hotohori lookalike because of his long hair. Hotohori never had weird designs on his left cheek, after all.
- Random face 3 (B&W, September 2000, 40.5 KB)
He looks sort of imperial, I think.
- Leona lookalike (B&W, September 2000, 24.2 KB)
She started off as an original, then ended up looking a bit like an exceedingly cute version of Leona. As Leona would never deliberately look that cute, this picture went into the original pics section. ^_^
- Random girl with eyepatch (B&W, July 2000, 28.1 KB)
One of my fave characters in Final Fantasy 8 was Fujin. I had her in mind when drawing this character, and you can really tell, because they're very similar. Except perhaps for the hair and the general facial expression.
- An Aoshi Shinomori lookalike (B&W, December 1999, 44.5 KB)
I was thinking of Aoshi when I drew this face, but wasn't trying to draw him exactly.
- Almost-random face 1 (B&W sketch, December 1999, 35.1 KB)
- Random Face (B&W sketch, December 1999, 26.8 KB)
- Random Face 2 (Pencil sketch, December 1999, 11.3 KB)
Really really rough sketch of a random face, not even inked and missing some details. I still think it's sort of interesting; the guide lines still there.
- Random Face 3 (B&W sketch, December 1999, 30.8 KB)
You can tell I like messing about with facial markings. ^_^
- Random Girl (B&W, December 1999, 26.7 KB)
- Random Girl 2 (B&W, December 1999, 27.3 KB)
- A less rough picture of the Nuriko-lookalike (B&W, September 1999, 25.2 KB)
- A rough semi-Hotohori-lookalike (B&W, July 1999, 30 KB)
I was a lot more detailed with the hair on this one than I usually am. I was going for a very bishounen look and I had Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi in mind as I drew this character, thus the hair and the androgynous look.
- A rough semi-Nuriko-lookalike (B&W, July 1999, 20.7 KB)
Similarly, I was going for a very bishounen look and this time I had Nuriko in mind.
- Rough of the VLR version of Thiesra, in human form (B&W, July 1999, 20.8 KB)
- Thiesra (demoness form) (Colour pencil, June 1998, 16.5 KB)
For years I've had a character concept of this rogue demoness Thiesra floating around - she's the subject of my Rogue Demon Thiesra story. Before that, she starred in City of Evil, which was to be a manga/comic, but it got too hackneyed and I never wrote/drew it. I did do a lot of character concept sketches, and then I lost them all. -_-
- Anyway. Here's a newly drawn picture of Thiesra in her demon form.
- Thiesra (human form) (Colour pencil, June 1998, 16.7 KB)
And here's a picture of Thiesra in human disguise.
- Unnamed bandana'ed girl (Colour pencil, June 1998, 12.8 KB)
I REALLY like this picture. This unnamed bandana'ed girl could eventually become the mascot for this page.
- Another picture of the unnamed bandana'ed girl (B&W, June 1998, 7.72 KB)
I left this in B&W pen so I could try adding colour with Photoshop. You see that it's still in B&W - my attempts at adding colour did NOT turn out well... *sigh*
- Someone doing an energy blast (Colour, February 1998, 17.7 KB)
My first attempt at using Photoshop to actually add to the picture, instead of just touch-up. This is also one of the few action shots here instead of just a static pose, as most of the pictures are (but it still seems a bit static to me... *sigh*)
- Page one of some rough drawing (B&W, September 1997, 11 KB)
- Page two of some rough drawing (B&W, September 1997, 10 KB)
- Jo, wielding a bokken (Colour pencil, Mid 1997, 16.2 KB)
I drew this a while back. I also drew it on lined paper, and while they're hard to see, the lines are still there, interfering ever so slightly with the picture. Oh well. Jo is just a name I gave her - she has nothing to do with Jo of the GRIT.
- Shizuka (B&W, November 1996, 21 KB)
A totally original character - Shizuka is just the name I decided to give her after I drew her...
- Unnamed 'chibi' girl (Colour, November 1996, 7 KB)
- The Carillion by evening (Colour photograph, April 1995, 38 KB)
- The 'Jomans' (Colour, ???, 40.8 KB)
I drew this years ago. This might even date back to as early as late 1994. And despite the length of time, I can still remember what the weird symbols on it are supposed to mean. These two are the sister-brother pair of 'Reia Joman' on the left, and 'Sie Joman' on the right.
- (The 'J' of 'Joman', BTW, is technically a voiced alveopalatal fricative, is like the French 'J', and is supposed to be pronounced like the 's' sound in 'vision'. If it helps, think of it like 'zh'.)
